Affected children spend most of their everyday lives sitting doubled over, lying down on their backs, or lying down on their sides and they have difficulty sitting with their legs extended, crawling on all fours, kneeling, and standing. This inability to assume antigravity positions is thought to result in delayed bone formation, osteoporosis, delayed development of the hip joint (from dysplasia. to dislocation), poor circulation, and delayed development of the upper limbs. In the current study, a request for at-home rehabilitation was received for a child with West syndrome. After evaluation and treatment at home, a standing assist device was built and rehabilitation was performed in antigravity positions. Changes in movement and activities of daily living were evident, as reported
